Cloud Technical Architect 1 - Infrastructure/Platform as a Service  ( Job Location: Bangalore)

·    candidate will architect Infrastructure (and Platform) as a Service cloud computing solutions based on a range of foundation technologies

·    candidate will require significant domain knowledge of technologies underlying cloud computing solutions such as advanced virtualization, infrastructure automation platforms, ITSM and adjacent technologies

·    candidate will require strong knowledge of current cloud computing landscape including experience with leading providers and knowledge of how their solutions are technically constructed

·    candidate will collaborate with other functional and technical teams to ensure all I/PaaS capabilities are appropriately architected, engineered, tested, and deployed

·    candidate will have a foundation in competing and complimentary technologies and be able to demonstrate a proficiency and/or knowledge of  the following:

o   VMware  Solutions

o   Microsoft Hyper-V Solutions

o   Data Center / Infrastructure Automation technologies (ex: Bladelogic, Scalent, BMC, etc…)

o   Open Source Cloud solutions : Opscode Chef, Eucalyptus, etc..

·    successful candidate will be proficient in cloud computing architecture and technologies along with a demonstrated ability to translate business and offering requirements into technical architectures

Roles and Responsibilities:

·         Lead technical architect for Infrastructure and Platform as a Service (I/PaaS) cloud computing solutions

·         Possess strong product, technology and industry knowledge of the cloud computing domain

·         Partner with offering architects to produce detailed conceptual and logical architectures that meet all business and technical requirements provided

·         Understand functionality and capability of a core set of virtualization and infrastructure automation tools

·         Function as the Global Architecture subject matter expert on infrastructure as a service  tools and technologies

·         Collaborate with build engineers to produce detailed physical architectures that will lead to timely and successful deployment of management and automation systems

·         Lead the definition and development of an future iterations of I/PaaS capabilities

·         Provide expertise and guidance on the configuration and deployment of I/PaaS solutions

·         Investigate and validate new cloud platform tools as directed by offering architects and business requirements

·         Completes assigned activities within schedule

 

Skills Required:

·         Ability to create detailed conceptual, logical and physical architectures

·         Ability to be concise, articulate, and assertive in all forms of communication

·         Minimum of 7 years experience with Windows and Unix environments

·         Strong knowledge of multiple cloud computing solutions in the market today

·         Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Vmware ESX 3.5 and vSphere 4.0 (including HA/DRS/vMotion and Vcenter SDK)

·         Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization solutions

·         Knowledge and/or experience with Data Center and/or infrastructure automation tools such as: Bladelogic, Scalent, BMC’s ITSM, etc..

·         Knowledge and/or experience with cloud computing technologies such as: Opscode Chef, VMops (cloud.com), 3tera, Eucalyptus, etc..

Preferred Education and Work Experience

·      Bachelor’s degree with a focus in applied sciences or engineering from leading institutes

·      7+ years of work experience in Data Center related roles (DC management and optimization or tools supporting such)

·      5+ years of work experience translating business and functional requirements into technical architectures

·      One or more Virtualization-related certifications a plus

Position:           Client Architect – BMC Specialist

Summary:

The Client Architect has overall responsibility for expanding the Unisys portfolio footprint in existing accounts and increasing reference-able accounts by creating compelling BMC ITSM7 solutions based on Unisys offerings and client requirements. These solutions require an architect with specific skills and experience in BMC products and technology. 

 The architect will work closely with account teams and the clients to identify additional opportunities.  Responsibilities include:

 -       Analysis and management of detailed customer ITO requirements

-       An understanding of client infrastructure

-       Mapping of requirements to Unisys solutions

-       Lead the Solution Architecture creation in close cooperation and with support from the Solution Architect team

-       Guide the proposed technical solutions through the Unisys Deal Review Board for approval

-       Provide detailed architectural artifacts and documentation to support onsite architects and implementation teams

 In addition, the Client Architect is expected to become the single point of contact for architecture related oversight on specific client accounts including responsibility of the overall solution integrity for these accounts.  The architect may also participate in account roadmap planning sessions.

 Required Skills:

 §  Specific, in-depth knowledge (3-5 years experience) of BMC technologies, especially the BMC Remedy Action Request System.

§  Relevant BMC certifications (BMC Certified Administrator – Remedy AR System 7.5)

Desired Skills:

 §  Relevant certifications in Infrastructure Services (ITIL), Systems Engineering and Administration (MCSE, MCSA, RHCE, SCSA, etc.), Information Management (CISM, CISA), and/or Security (CISSP)

§  Working knowledge of IT operational procedures and processes.

§  Customer Interface

o    Communicate with onsite architects and key customer stakeholders on a regular basis to provide smooth communication

o    Provide up-to-date information to clients in response to specific inquiries

o    Follow up on commitments prior to dates requested.

o    Drive the innovation roadmap based on Unisys Offerings where possible

 Summary:
